For families across La Grange, La Grange Park, and Western Springs, the next eight weeks will be filled with some of the most memorable moments in a student's life. Lyons Township High School (LTHS) District 204 has published the full Class of 2026 senior event schedule — and students (and their parents) will start to want getting ready for these dates!

The schedule covers everything from a senior reflection program and a prom night at one of Chicago's most iconic venues to a scholarship ceremony and an outdoor commencement on Bennett Field. Here is what every LTHS family needs to know.

The senior milestone season opens with Baccalaureate, a reflection program held in the Reber Center on the evening of Friday, May 15. Students should watch for additional details from the school as the date approaches.

Prom — "Garden Gala" at the Field Museum

Saturday, May 16, 2026 | The Field Museum, Chicago | 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

The Class of 2026 will celebrate Prom at The Field Museum in Chicago on Saturday, May 16, from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The event's theme is "Garden Gala."

All students and their guests are required to take LTHS-provided deluxe coach buses to and from Prom. Buses load at South Campus (4900 S. Willow Springs Road, Western Springs) at 5:30 p.m., and students must check in no later than 6:00 p.m. Students who don't attend the Post-Prom Cruise will take return buses that will arrive back at South Campus at approximately 11:30 pm. Prom tickets are priced at $185 per person. Online ticket sales run through Monday, April 13, 2026. Tickets are also available in the Student Activities Office at the North Campus Lower Library. Tickets are non-transferable, and no changes can be made after April 13.

Prom is open to LTHS students with senior class status and their guests. Non-LT guests must be at least high school age and no older than 20 years old. All LT students must have a parent or guardian sign a Prom Permission Slip. Non-LT guests must complete a separate Non-LT Guest Request form. Families with questions about guest policies should visit lths.net/activities/events/prom or contact Student Activities Director Kris Costopoulos at kcostopoulos@lths.net.

Post-Prom Cruise

Saturday night into Sunday morning, May 16–17, 2026 | Departing Navy Pier | 11:45 p.m. – 2:30 a.m.

After Prom ends, students who purchase Post-Prom tickets will board the Oddyssey and the Spirit of Chicago for a Lake Michigan cruise departing from Navy Pier. The cruise runs from 12:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. and features an open buffet, DJ entertainment on multiple levels, and an open-air observation deck with views of the Chicago skyline. Buses return to South Campus at approximately 3:00 a.m.

Post-Prom tickets are $60 per person and must be purchased at the same time as Prom tickets. The same April 13 sales deadline applies.

Last Day of Classes for Seniors

Friday, May 22, 2026

Friday, May 22 is the final day of classes for Class of 2026 students. The school has noted that all summative assessments for seniors should be completed before this date so that students have the opportunity to retake any assessments before their last day.

Graduation Rehearsal — MANDATORY

Tuesday, May 26, 2026 | South Campus (Field House & Bennett Field) | Time TBD

All students who plan to participate in the Commencement ceremony must attend the mandatory Graduation Rehearsal on Tuesday, May 26, at South Campus. The exact start time has not yet been announced.

LT Class of 2026 Commencement

Wednesday, May 27, 2026 | Bennett Field, South Campus | 7:00 p.m. 4900 S. Willow Springs Road, Western Springs, IL 60558

The Class of 2026 will walk at Commencement on Wednesday, May 27, at 7:00 p.m. on Bennett Field at South Campus. LTHS is continuing its tradition of hosting Commencement outdoors on Bennett Field.

Rain contingency: If inclement weather forces a postponement on May 27, the ceremony will move to Thursday, May 28, also on Bennett Field. If weather prevents an outdoor ceremony on both May 27 and May 28, Commencement will be held on Friday, May 29 on Bennett Field. In the event that weather prevents an outdoor graduation throughout the entire week, LTHS may move Commencement indoors to the North Campus Fieldhouse (100 S. Brainard Avenue, La Grange).

Families are encouraged to monitor lths.net and school communications for weather-related updates as graduation week approaches.
