A Mexican and French-inspired restaurant wants to fill the vacant storefront at 50 S. La Grange Rd. in downtown La Grange.
Crepas Culichi, which operates a location in Oak Park, has applied for a village liquor license to open in the space previously occupied by Forbidden Noodles, according to a Patch report. The village is reviewing the application.
Sisters Yency and Estefany Garcia co-own the restaurant, which they founded in Berwyn in April 2019 with support from their mother. The Berwyn location closed in 2023, and the Oak Park spot at 1101 Lake St. became their flagship. That location seats about 80 and serves brunch and dinner with a cocktail program.
The menu blends French technique with Mexican flavors. Dishes include a poblano crepe with peppers, corn, cheese, salsa verde and avocado. The cocktail list features items like a fig-marmalade mezcal martini.
No opening date for the La Grange location has been announced. Under village rules, the liquor license process requires approval from the Village President, who serves as Liquor Commissioner, followed by a vote from the Board of Trustees.
