Business and property owners along La Grange Park's commercial corridors can learn how to get up to $20,000 back on exterior improvements at a drop-in Meet & Greet on Tuesday, May 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Central Federal Savings & Loan, 1921 E. 31st Street.
The village and Central Federal are co-hosting the event to connect eligible owners with the Façade & Property Revitalization Program, a reimbursement grant launched in May 2024. The program covers up to half of total construction costs for façade work, landscaping, signage, and parking lot reconstruction on commercial buildings within the village's two TIF districts and four Business Development Districts.
No registration is required. Attendees can ask questions and discuss project ideas with village staff.
Who qualifies
Properties must be used in whole or in part for commercial purposes and located in one of six eligible districts: Village Market TIF, 31st St./Barnsdale TIF, 31st St./North La Grange Road BDD, Village Market BDD, 31st St./Barnsdale BDD, or 31st St./Maple Avenue BDD.
How it works
All work must be pre-approved by the Village Board before construction begins. Applicants need two contractor bids per scope item, photos of existing conditions, and construction drawings. Once approved, owners have one year to complete the project. Reimbursement comes after the work is done and proof of payment is submitted.
The event comes as the village also advances a $180,000 federally funded transportation and streetscape plan for the 31st Street corridor, with final recommendations expected this summer.
