Jack Slightom struck out 13 batters and shut down Glenbard West for six innings Tuesday, powering Lyons Township to a 3-2 West Suburban Silver conference win in Western Springs.

The University of Cincinnati commit allowed just one hit and one walk while keeping the Hilltoppers off the scoreboard through six frames. Glenbard West mounted a two-run rally in the seventh, but the Lions held on to secure the victory.

It was Slightom's second straight dominant game — he struck out 10 over 5 1/3 innings against Hanover Central last week, according to Shaw Local.
