Senior Jack Slightom was untouchable Tuesday night, throwing a five-inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts as the Lyons Township Lions run-ruled York 10-0.

Slightom mowed through the Dukes' lineup without allowing a single hit, needing just five innings to complete the gem.

LTHS jumped on York early, plating two runs in the first inning and two more in the third. Then came the knockout blow: a six-run fourth inning that put the game out of reach and triggered the mercy rule.

Senior Lou Ratcliffe — who signed with UW-Oshkosh this winter — led the offense, going 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and three RBIs. Junior Nick Hines added a 2-for-2 night with two runs scored.

The win pushes the Lions to 15-3 overall and 6-1 in conference play. LTHS is ranked No. 17 in Illinois on MaxPreps as of Tuesday.

The Lions are scheduled to head back to York for a rematch Thursday at 4:45 p.m.
